HOW IT ALL STARTED
Aimee Knox started Kingdom Playground Products in 1988. She designed playgrounds for schools, churches, apartment buildings, and other small commercial businesses.
The business did very well, but after running it for a number of years, she decided to set the business aside and focus on other career goals.
Her son Sam decided to pick up the family company, but he wanted to shift from focusing on commercial products to instead offering residential backyard playgrounds directly to customers online. Learn why below!

Growing up, we were always outside. Playing on playgrounds, climbing trees, riding bikes—you name it! I loved being outside with my siblings and friends, and it saddens me to see that happening less and less these days.
With the growing trend of children remaining inside, often spending more time with screens than with God’s creation, I wanted to be a part of encouraging families to teach their children to enjoy outside play time.

BIG CHANGES FOR KINGDOM PLAYGROUNDS IN 2021
After faithfully serving our customers, the strain on supply chain surrounding COVID-19 regulations have now changed how we operate. While we formerly bought inventory and sold products directly to customers, we have been unable to do so since April 2020. We held on, paid our employees faithfully, and served our existing customers, but we knew it couldn’t last forever if we couldn’t secure inventory.
Because of this challenge, the only way we see forward is to change from being a retail store to a “shopping resource” for visitors. Our website will still operate, but instead of buying directly from Kingdom Playgrounds, visitors will be able to use the website as their shopping tool to find the perfect backyard playground, then they can click the “Buy on Amazon” button located on product pages to complete their order on Amazon.com. This method earns us a small commission, less than half what we used to bring in per order, but it allows us to continue being a great resource and help to families, and the commissions we earn still help to provide for our family-owned business.
We are grateful to every customer who has previously purchased on our website, and we will be grateful to any visitor who clicks through to order on Amazon from our website. We also want to be available for customers if they have questions, so we will still be available by phone to answer questions, help you figure out the installation process, and make sure the set you pick is perfect for your family.
